A doctor-prescribed suicide bill (H.B. 789), titled the “End of Life Option Act” was introduced on April 11, 2017. The bill did not pass in 2017.
It was carried over to 2018 but failed to pass.

“House bill would allow suicide for terminally ill”

House Bill 611 was introduced Thursday by two House Democrats…Rep. Pricey Harrison, D-Guilford, said she recognizes it will take several years to gain momentum behind the bill, particularly in a Republican-controlled legislature.  The bill has not been placed into a committee.
