“Joseph Brooks, a Maker of Jingles, Songs and Films, Dies at 73”

The composer of “You Light Up My Life” was charged in 2009 with luring 13 women to Manhattan to audition for movie roles, then drugging and sexually assaulting them.  The police said his head was wrapped in a plastic bag connected to a tube from a helium tank and that he had left a three-page note.
